    Pros

    Good training and reasonable work loads. Compensation in this and other State of Iowa agencies is superior to Des Moines private employers. A defined benefit pension (IPERS) guarantees a pension of up to 65 per cent of your highest five years. Sick leave and vacation are superior to the Des Moines private sector.

    Cons

    Job retention and promotion are completely polictical. Performance evaluations are determined in advance by top management based on personal likes and dislikes.
