    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

8-5 job with no weekends. Relatively good job security.

    Cons

Employee morale is at an all time low. The legislature is more than willing to sacrifice state employees as a scapegoat in the budgeting process. Pay and benefits are getting worse and worse, with no hope of improving any time in the foreseeable future (if ever). Expect medical and retirment benefits to continue to get worse. Lots of middle managers, the majority of whom seems to be promoted from low level admin and techician positions with no real training or leadership qualifications. Incompetent HR. Bureaucratic. Lack of vision or focused goals. Poor quality control. Lots of outsourcing in IT.

    Advice to Management

    1) Consider that your best buddy or son-in-law may not be the best qualified person for that position. 2) Outsourcing always ends up costing a lot more in the long run than you bargained for.
