I can't recommend it at this time. However, it is a new organization and is having growing pains.

Pros

I have a steady job.

Cons

Senior leadership is arrogant and disrespectful. They consider staff a dime a dozen. They are more concerned with power and politics than with the clients we are to serve.

Advice to Management

Get a clue and come down to earth. You are not superior to others.

    Pros

Serve the people in my State and community Great benefits package Low pressure environment Some telecommuting is allowed Clear mission

    Cons

Budget constraints are high and the fallout is hard Little opportunity for advancement Union involvement creates as many problems as it solves Certain agencies like DAS are a nightmare of political subterfuge, while others like DEQ are pleasant and some areas with very good middle management.

    Advice to Management

When cuts are required, they should be a percentage across the entire State of all agencies, not allowing certain large agencies to essentially go unscathed, while the smaller agencies get hit--hard.
