I have been working at Staten Island University Hospital full-time

Pros

Has good cardiac facilities. The residents and fellows are top notch.

Cons

Everything else is garbage. Bunch of thieves on high level management. Multiple multi million dollar fraud fines in the last ten years. Only real hospital in staten island... that is why they are abusing the system.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just wait until a better facility opens up.

I have been working at Staten Island University Hospital

    Pros

SIUH provided a remarkable clinical experience while i was in Nursing school. They allowed students to interact and care for patients. Nurses were well trained and receptive.

    Cons

Limited opportunity to enter the hospitals job market. Also doing upgrades and renovations would benefit the community.

I worked at Staten Island University Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for advancement and moving around company. Professional and has high standards in policies and procedures. Has union benefits with education.

    Cons

A lot of reorganizing. Recent layoffs and senior buyouts. There are positions that are covered by unions which may not always benefit the hard workers. Slackers don't have to worry about being let go because they are protected by union.
