I have been working at Steiner Electric full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

there are opportunities to move up in the company if you work REALLY hard
It also helps if you personally know upper management.
There are opportunities to learn a great deal in the industry

Cons

The owner of the company is very disconnected from associates. He often degrades associates. Management is very tense
Salary compensation is not good
Culture is horrible and there are very few people that like working there.
Very dirty working enviorment in the office and especially in the warehouse

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relax and listen to the employees recomendations
compensate the associates that work hard and fire the lazy associates that play computer games when they should be working
Have all associates cross train in other departments to eleviate the mentality that the other departments don't work.
Treat the associates with respect

    Pros

    Steiner is a family owned business that has been around for 98 years. If you show a willingness to grow and keep up with the ever changing world around us, there are opportunities for advancement at Steiner. There's an energy and excitement buzzing around Steiner for the future and a willingness on managements part to create the tools needed to take Steiner to the next level.

    Steiner's CEO has an open door policy which allows every employee an opportunity to stop by his office to discuss a project or just say hello. With his down to earth approach you are made to feel you are part of the team, he always has time to share whatever is going on at work or in your home life.

    Cons

    Time is always the challenge.

    Keep focus on ALL employees. Communication is essential to keep employees on the same page.
