Cons

No growth, lack of training, lack of growth, bias, issues with strategy, no investments and 'couldn't care less' management attitude

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn from the industry, listen to your employees, recognise the talent, reorganise, make middle mgmt responsible accountable, be sales focused

Current Employee - Technical Leader in Chennai (India)

I have been working at Steria

    Pros

Steria provides a platform for excellent work-life balance. The project in which I am working is very good and I learn loads of stuff in my 7 years of experience. The Chennai building is amazing and beautiful. Steria is a good to place to work and you can aim high!! But it gives a very good start for Freshers, but at my level opportunities comes down drastically.

    Cons

Steria doesn't have many projects, so opportunities for growth beyond Technical leader is very poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do some out of box thinking and try to win some new projects. Its ages since you have contributed and won a project for us!

Current Employee - Someone Senior in New Delhi (India)

I have been working at Steria

    Pros

Some People are good and try to keep the work culture happy, but some others are making the atmosphere unbearable - the issue is that the bosses in India seem to favour these very people thus making life difficult.
Salary can be competetive however salary increases year on year is based on your relationsip with your boss - HR and policies and not strong, everything is controlled by Finance
Great new office but a pain in terms of location and facilities availability...

    Cons

    Above including
Complex structures - Verticals vs Horizontals, job insecurity, lack of roles, people being asked to go due to frequest re-org's
No business strategy, lack of vision and visbility, loads of meetings but no concrete wins....
No new customers...same old same old (thank you for being with Steria)
Lack of leadership - a new Director Ops, IMSL head has quit, BPO Head missing, Testing Head with no experience, an unsupportive Finance means cut costs but no investments for the future

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of the boardroom and listen to your people, Talk to your people and ask them how they feel
Ask the Sr Management to be visible - be there to handle problems, divest powers in 2nd line positions in the Horizontals as the bosses are clearly over burdened
Need to grow...where is the new business(UK/India)
    Investments?? where are they

    No opinion of CEO
