Pros

Good place to work if you like a slow and static atmosphere without alot of deadline pressures. Everything moves at a snail's pace. In IT they have semi-annual product release cycles. Not for my taste but some people may like this type of environment. They have a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. But instead of working 9 hours on the other days, most people work the standard 8 hours. Also the Friday that people do show up for, most people leave early and nothign gets done.

Cons

Terrible upper management. They have no idea what they're doing with regards to IT. The management structure is bloated with little direction. Most of management I've dealt with are unqualified and gets in your way most of the time. There is a very high number of project manager, product managers, BA, dev managers for the number of developers. With the non-technical people driving most of the technical decisions. Projects that should take 4 weeks to do usually last 6 months or more. Not much gets done.

Advice to Management

You have some very useless people in management. Start getting rid of some of them.

    Pros

Good people , relax environment. People can do their own projects freely . Not too many control about the employee. People work for solution and work together.

    Cons

lower pay The benefit package is not very good compare to other big company. They downsize people fairly quick once the real estate market is not looking good. Too many temp people when business is good , then they are gone when there is no new project. So supervisor need to spent lots time training and training and none of those temp can be there for the next wave of assignment. Besides , lots error generated by those new temp which costs us more time and energy to fix them.

    Advice to Management

raise the payment for key developer to keep them here , too many turnover

I have been working at Stewart Information Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Nothing else to say.

    Cons

Poor management. None of management has actual management experience. No room for moving up. One of the only ways to get noticed is being a pretty female. Not everyone gets a yearly "raise". Raise is only .25 cents. High turnaround rate. Majority of employees are contract and will ALWAYS be contract. They don't show any appreciation to their employees. Very unprofessional environment. They hire anyone. Definitely won't ever recommend anyone to work here. No real training. Just a stepping stone for a greater career opportunity. I've worked a lot of places and this is the worst management I've ever experienced.

    Advice to Management

Show more employee appreciation! Hire better managers!
