I worked at Stoller full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The office buildings are nice, and there is typically enough space to have your own private office area (that is at least split by cubicle dividers.) The healthcare benefits are decent, and the office culture is one that consists of people who are spiritually supportive. The company is also involved in non-profit efforts to help children in need.

    Cons

There are few policies in place, so procedures are difficult to follow. The company is owned by one person, who is an older gentleman that is almost never present in the office, so communications can be difficult. The CEO also does not use computer technology, so communicating with him can be difficult to maintain, and is indirect. He is often moody, difficult to work for, paranoid, unclear on his assignments, and unreasonably demanding. There is also a lack of flexibility despite their claim to offer flexibility to their employees. I was made a lot of promises, and so i worked hard, but then I saw zero follow-through with anyone trying to assist me with my success.

    Advice to Management

Hire someone to specifically establish policies and procedures in the office for everyone to follow. Maintain consistency, and follow-through with any promises made to employees unless they specifically violate the policies and procedures in place.

Tricky and overbearing politics, unstable owner

I have been working at Stoller full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a few good products that work well, Bioforge, Stimulate, X-tra power and Sugar Mover. Good benefits but no 401K Savings plan. Invest on your own.

    Cons

Sadistic and controlling company owner likes to create chaos by creating 500 products that all overlap each other to keep everyone confused and he likes to create tension in the field by overlapping consultants with sales reps in the same territory so they compete against each other. Stoller has unwavering loyalty to 3rd party consultants, they walk on water no matter the dirty deeds and half truths that have been said to sell the product line. If you mess with them, you are out of a job. Very few policies set in place so there are no guidelines for anything, even management doesn't know, they just work on the fly. Forget about anyone in corporate doing anything to support the field level employees, incompetence is rewarded and rampant. There is zero follow through with most management staff. The company is under the guise of change but it's a facade. Nothing will change until there is a new owner in place and even then, it’s doubtful. Owner is more concerned with his Christian charities and that he is known as a Christian philanthropist, rather than an owner of concern who would address the unethical behavior of his close long time friends that work for him as contractors and have taken advantage of decent honest people. The good old boy club here prevails and it's all about the bottom line. If you are not in the good ole boy club, you are out. As mentioned above, there is no 401K savings plan. Good luck trying to move up, no advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

This company is beyond help and repair. Sell it to someone that actually knows how to manage things.
