Ruled by powerful bullies and their disciples

Teacher (Former Employee)
Pawcatuck, CT

I worked at Stonington Public Schools full-time for more than a year

ProsSalary is good and budget is good.

ConsPowerful click and backstabbing, culture of intimidation, the town votes down the budget more often than not. If they can hire someone for less, they will find a way to get rid of you and it won't be pleasant.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop creating a hostile work environment. If you want something open an honest dialog rather than harass and intimidate. We are not mindreaders.

Continuous Budget Problems , Cronyism, & Bullying

Teacher (Former Employee)
Stonington, CT

I worked at Stonington Public Schools full-time for more than a year

Pros: The Stonington Public Schools is very serious about student achievement and providing the best education… Cons: The budget is often, almost every year shot down in referendum thus creating an avenue for teachers to loose their positions despite tenure or performance.… Advice to Senior Management: Keep paying your lawyers and insurance because one of these… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
