I have been working at Stony Brook University full-time (more than an year)

Pros

You have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in your field. Have access to great, up to date laboratory facilities. You will learn a lot of new things by working hear, both academically and skills for future employment.

Cons

Salary is only high enough for cost of living, not recommended for non-student job seekers. Managers can be too detached from laboratory setting, results in substantial downtime during some parts of the year if you are not proactive.
