I worked at Stop & Shop

    Pros

    Good part-time job.
Most associates are very nice to work with.
It's a good first job for those in high school.

    Cons

They don't treat their people good.
They've broken state laws on how to deal with certain associates.
    Poor communication between management.
Violated federal law on wrongful termination of a disabled associate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to do a better job on how you treat your associates. More of them should stand up for themselves but fear the retaliation.

I have been working at Stop & Shop

    Pros

Benefits after 6 months (Health, Dental, Vision)
Union Job (so automatic pay raises twice a year, also whenever union contract changes)
Pretty good hours (I just started and I get 25-30 hours a week)
Decent start pay (started at 8.50, other places similar started a little less)

    Cons

Have to serve customers up till 10, even if your scheduled to leave at 10 (so if they come up last minute you have to serve them)
A little understaffed (might just be my store)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have at least 4 people closing (my store only has 3 so sometimes its hard to close right on time, 1 person makes a big difference)
