Company values and beliefs are strong but the industry and company seem unstable.

Pros

The company is growing quickly and the philosphy and values are positive. Nice facility (Tampa) and casual dress code. Some great upper management folks that really believe in the company.

Cons

Appraisal managment company that hinges directly to the mortgage industry so not very stable. Some folks hired in Sept were laid off in Oct due to business needs. Upper managment people skills are good but not so much with the teamleads/supervisors. They give Inconsistent directives and are inexperienced in management skills. As the other reviewer stated in their post there is an underlying weird unspoken vibe and they are watching over your shoulder constantly. The leads are cliquey and whisper among themselves. You will work for them through a temp agency, a very disposable feel to the environment. Possible perm position after 90 days and a raise from $12 to $12.50 an hour. You will work overtime on Saturday and then be sent home early later in the pay period to keep costs down.

Advice to Management

Very few great candidates will be retained at just $12 an hour. Get all of leadership on the same page and decide what type of candidate and skill set you are looking for then set up a more detailed hiring process to obtain them. The rubber balls that are bounced and thrown around belong at the park or basketball court not on the work floor.

    Pros

New company, Industry leader, Plenty of growth opportunities*, Reasonable break times and time off even for new employees. relaxed dress code. Plenty of OT

    Cons

Only hires through an employment agency as a way to "try out" new employees. Poor people management structure and practices. Confusing/conflicting directives from mgt. Not very open about their intentions. You kind of get a weird "Stepfords" vibe from them. They tend to use euphemisms for anything even remotely negative- to the point where you're not really sure what they are trying to communicate. They expect you to work every Saturday. Early in the week it will be mandatory, and later in the week the people chosen are announced to the rest of the staff as "volunteers." they also try to influence you to work weekends through a weird bait and switch tactic. Working OT is about the only way they will actually hire you.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful of how your employees feel about the company, you guys can't do all the work on your own.
