Pros

Stryker is a focused growth firm that is helping to improve quality of life for patients worldwide. Stryker values employee development and has evolved formal processes for acting on employee feedback.

Cons

The company is maturing systems to catch up with organic and acquisition growth. Must be able to navigate in situations where there is not always an established process. The upside of the firm being at this stage of development is that there are many opportunities for self-starters.

Advice to Management

Keep up what you are doing.

    Pros

See how things work in a successful company. Great exposure to the medical device industry. It is a great company to work for if you are a full-time hire. Got to work whenever I want, even from home.

    Cons

Probably because I was a contractor, but rarely was I given the opportunity to take on important projects. Did not feel like an engineer position. Was hired because there was work to do, not because they saw potential in a contractor to convert to a full-time employee.

    Advice to Management

Spread some responsibility, be honest, have some faith in contract workers.

    Pros

A lot of resources. Up tempo work environment. Good place to start orthopedic career. Decent benefits. Opportunity to make a lot of money if given a good territory.

    Cons

Very poor management (LA Branch). Pay could be better for the amount worked. Ridiculous quota standards with limited management assistance. Horrible work life balance.
