Not a bad place to start your career, terrible place to attempt to grow.

I have been working at Stryker

Pros

Decent benifits, gives a good overall picture of industry as a whole.

Cons

Very little flexibility inthe work. More of a hierachical system instead of promotions based on merit. Politics rule as they do in many corporations, much of a person's success in this depend on how willing your manager is to let you try new things and how much they support your growth. Stryker is not a bad place to start a career, but long term prospects are very limited.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your people try new things and grow. Don't put people in a nox and limit their potential.

Sign out front should say "Welcome to the Good old boys club!" Back stabbing like you won't believe.

I have been working at Stryker

    Pros

    401K is excellent
    Clean work environment
    Stable Company
Pretty women are everywhere especially at corporate

    Cons

9 years with 8 different managers and 7 different supervisors while in the same department.
Signed bids to get out of the department got negative feedback on reviews for it
Fools excel while skilled intelligent people get slighted
Can't be a supervisor unless your head only shakes yes all day, regardless of how bad management's decisions are.
Temps get abused. They should tell them that If you're not a "temp to hire" then you are a "temp to fire", no matter what they teach you, once your area is caught up, be it 3 months or a year, you will be let go.They tend to lead temps on and let them think they have a chance to get hired in.
Like to fire people around Christmas every year. That's just heartless and wrong.
    Very inconsistent in many ways
Like Charlie Darwin said..."Working for a system built to fail"
Back stabbing like I have never seen in my life
Employees call the place "bizarro world" should have known when I started that was a bad sign.
Go to meetings where people get kudos for reworking errors on overtime and double time that they screwed up on straight time.
Every new manager has to implement the next big thing that will save the company so that the next manager can do away with that and start their own company saving process.
No one can interpret the FDA guidelines so they pay some other company to do it for them then make internal regs that make it almost impossible to do any work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of all management and supervisors and start from scratch. Upper level management needs to take a good long look at Instruments and do some house cleaning. Drop that stupid personality test.
