I have been working at StumbleUpon

    Pros

    - Startup excitement and challenges.
    - Stability and generosity of larger companies.
    - Small-company environment where you can get to know your coworkers well.
    - Flexible and fun culture.

    Cons

    - For those looking for large brand names, this isn't really it. Join if you want to contribute to creating a brand name (not just be associated with existing popular brands).
    - Success is never certain. If you're not able to handle uncertainty and challenges, then this isn't the place for you either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Don't be afraid to take more time to evaluate and consider important decisions for the future, longer-term growth of the company.

The best of both worlds: start-up excitement, big company security.

I have been working at StumbleUpon

    Pros

Series A start-up which means lots of cheap stock options but proven and executing business model, and the company is profitable. They really only hire the best people, and best means no arseholes. The founders are very cool, the CEO is the perfect balance of good to work for and ambitiously aggressive. Benefits are great, location in SF is great, work-life balance is great.

    Cons

For a company that has been around since 2001, you'd think they would have made more progress? Maybe the eBay acquisition hampered them?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing, you guys are rocking it. Make sure you do exit interviews to figure out why people really leave, the reasons aren't that big and uncorrectable, but it's worthwhile to listen!
