I have been working at Subway full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Meeting new people from the different walks of life, making connections which could help you advance your career but getting advice and guidance from the people who come here.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive at all. The good employees always leave for greener pastures. The employee who stay aren't motivated to work hard. The company has stringent rules. The franchise I work for has no paid vacation or any benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve incentives to retain the talented employees. Make pay competitive. Make sure employee concerns are heard so they will make an effort to improve his or her performance.

I have been working at Subway full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Easily able to get good hours, and request time off. Depending on location decent tips. 50% employee discount. Easy raise. Good if first job.

    Cons

HAVE to work in a fast pace. As in for food prep you should not take more than 1hr 30 min cutting all vegetables manually includes all you see tomato, bell pepper, cucumber, onion (the worst!) Having your eyes tear and burn every morning! Having to work fast cutting and moving around quickly tend for some accidents. During rush hour for Subway 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. when everyone is on their lunch break you'll encounter more rude customers than usual. You'll always smell like a sandwich at the end of a shift. Management always expect you to keep busy even when all task are complete and is completely clean. They always have an eye one you, whether they're physically there or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should understand that 90% of task given only take 10min to complete, and it's slow most of the time so to not insist in keeping busy all the time if there's not anything to do. It's just sandwiches.
