Sun Microsystems – “Good Engineers, Lousy Management”

Pros

- great technical people
- good flexible work environment
- good campus and telecommute options
- genial work environment

Cons

- senior management has no clue how to make monetize the products
- no top level strategy except the busted freeware "feel-good" train wreck
- at each layoff, the leaf nodes get RIF'ed, but the managers stick around
- too top heavy - we have far too many VP's and DIrectors with minimal responsibilities

Advice to Senior Management

- Now that the company has been sold to Oracle, hopefully, things will turn around.
