Pros

It has its proud history and most of employees are very professional and dedicated. Their PMO has a stringent process to review each project and makes sure all intrinsic are captured.

Cons

Sometimes, you would find there is a missing link to communicate back on the result about a project you did

Advice to Management

I would advise the leadership to provide all necessary feedback to a project progress and make corrections and support a change if necessary.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    Excellent benefits for most
    Mostly transparent communications
    Professional and ethical environment
    Telecommuting options for some
Good work/life balance for many or most
    Atlanta/Orlando landmarks
Can be easy to get by--if that's your prerogative
Downtown HQ location is central to Atlanta

    Cons

Middle and some lower management/VPs resistant to change
    inefficiencies galore
Internal politics, kya is a necessity
    revolving door for quality employees
camaraderie almost non-existent in most groups
slow to adapt and change, frustration will likely envelop your every effort to improve the biz
Technology is lacking relative to peers both internally and externally, many key business functions running on excel and access; non-IT folks (bankers) have been too involved in "designing" systems and processes
    lack of accountabliity
    Corporate operations too decentralized
layers upon layers of poorly designed, undocumented processes
opportunity for advancement appears to be based soley on who you know and new positions are tailor-made by those connections
    The industry outlook is terrible
SunTrust is executing near the bottom of the pack against peers in many key measures
    Parking costs for ATL HQ

    Advice to Management

Don't spend big money on internal surveys, when reviewing Glassdoor STI reviews can provide you the same or better insight. If it's possible to bring in someone to clean management house below the top level, do it. I don't see how SunTrust is going to be quick enough to improve/adapt to retain current market share with the lead anchors currently in place.
