    Pros

    Friendly coworkers
    Strong community
Good mission statement and strong branding
    Very approachable founders
Great office location on the waterfront

    Cons

    Below market wages
    Extreme volatility
    Peter principle in full effect
Lack of ability for career advancement

    Advice to Management

Yes the solar market is rocky and funding is tight but you need to manage cash flow more effectively. There are far too many knee jerk reactions to budget crises. Even from the trenches its obvious that the crises are not due to the solar coaster, but predictable deficiencies in planning by senior management.

Hold your legacy employees to the same standards as new employees. If they aren't delivering 100% they need to be let go. It's obvious the Peter Principle is in full effect here and its very demoralizing to experience.

Have plans for raises and career advancement. There is currently a raise freeze but yet we're paying $7000 to a headhunter to hire one software employee. That is very demoralizing.

Wonderful group of co-workers; piss-poor senior management in terms of how they treat non-management staff.

    Pros

Selling solar. Best business model in the industry. Great view of the Bay and SF. Some wonderful co-workers.

    Cons

Inconsistent and outright deceitful management practices, including playing favorites. I think they lost a bunch of money on new software that didn't work out, then they sacked 5 consultants. I believe they also fired the VP of Sales, who was great, and now they have some kid from the military running the sales dept. I wish them luck and love what they do, but they need to keep their management practices in accord with their purported image of do-gooders and feel-gooders.

    Advice to Management

    Be humane.
