I worked at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked for Supermicro from my home office for 2+ years
    Pros included:
    * an excellent health care plan
    * as a field-based employee, the hours I worked were pretty flexible
    * the company has an enormous product portfolio to sell, and didn't seem to be too concerned what I focused on selling so long as I was closing business

    Cons

    * communication is difficult-to-impossible at times. most of senior and middle management speak Mandrin as 1st language
    * lots of sales conflict. 9 independent sales teams compete for business with no direction from sales management.
    * absolutely no CRM system - you're on your own. no sharing of account information, no sharing of best practices
    *

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reorganize sales force to eliminate redundancies and conflict. Build teams around territories, markets, and/or products/solutions.
