I have been working at Superior Essex

    Pros

Salary is fine, benefits are good, and the people are generally friendly, down-to-earth southerners with a conservative approach to business. Job security at the corporate is above average as the company is able to be profitable in all economic conditions, but we did have to let a few people go in the past year.

    Cons

Conservative - this can be a good thing if you're not looking for any real career advancement, but for someone just leaving college it is a very frustrating place to begin. Cubicle environment is miserable - just like the movie Office Space. Few people (if anyone) come in to work without looking forward to leaving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within; recognize people who go above and beyond; don't be aloof to the needs of someone who is just starting their career.

I have been working at Superior Essex

    Pros

Flexible time off, great benefits, casual work environment

    Cons

Lack of respect from upper management toward subordinates, top-heavy organization, promotion within is based on seniority instead of qualifications.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn about the work model used at USAA or the Marriott so management can really see what's going on in the workplace and how customers are often pushed to the competition as a result of poorly trained and poorly qualified middle-management.
