Pros

Many ICU, ER, OR nurses work here and find it a less stressful environment still able to find work fulfilling, maybe even more. Therefore, patients are served with top-notch care, RNs willing to share their knowledge with patients and other colleagues. RNs and management are down-to-earth, Doctors and residents provide wonderful service land willing to teach You constantly work closely with patients, doctors, nurses, and other staff therefore learn the dynamics of open communication and interaction among groups. Once you prove yourself to be a loyal and diligent worker, you gain respect to take you a long way No work on weekends and major holidays

Cons

There are limited full-time positions and your hours are not guaranteed every week since it depends on the amount of cases. Benefits package not the greatest Have to be patient to be cross-trained in OR if you do not have a background in the area already

Advice to Management

More communication and praise for individual employees Consistency and follow-through in what you offer for job positions

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

No call, no holidays, no weekends. Nice facility. Good doctors to work with.

    Cons

LOTS of favoritism with charge nurse and employees causing lots of resentment amongst co-workers. Unfair distribution of work amongst employees by charge nurse. Rules apply only to certain people.

    Advice to Management

Conduct an employee satisfaction survey where employees can voice their concerns without retaliation. i.e. anonymously via an outside, non-biased company.

I have been working at Surgical Care Affiliates part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Daylight, M-F, no call coworkers very kind

    Cons

The core values and policies are great and appropriate for this medical environment but it is not practiced. Regulations are ignored in the guise of maintaining low staff hours. There is obvious favoritism and many staff succumb to working this way out of fear of retaliation. New hires under qualified for the areas they are being oriented . I being one of then and no training offered.Employees that have been here for years requested training have fallen on deaf ears. Although I haven't been here long I don't for see me staying long . I value my license .

    Advice to Management

Middle management will give senior management what they want to hear. Start listening to the foundation of the company. The direct contact employees. The SCA company has the right values but the culture doesn't implement or reflect them.
