I have been working at Swarovski part-time for more than a year

Pros

Great product, gaining valuable management skills even as a part timer because you work alone, employee discount, the included warranty on the product, decent hourly wage and part timers get vacation hours

Cons

Operations are not efficient at all, low tech company, laughably high sales goals, upper management plays favorites, low foot traffic, no advancement opportunity at store level, staffing is always an issue in the stores because the application process is extensive and difficult
This is the strangest retailer I've ever worked for. Other retailers I've worked for, it's all about accommodate the customer. At Swarovski, you can get in trouble for accommodating the customer! if it involves bending the policies. The sales goals were ridiculous in order to make bonus. Honestly I feel like it's because they don't want to pay us a bonus.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't get mad at us for creating happy customers if it involves bending the rules. Invest in some technology, especially for inventory/shipment purposes

I have been working at Swarovski part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Employee discount from 35- 50 %
    Lovely crystal designs

    Cons

    Unrealistic sales goals
Managers under extreme pressure to meet goals
Long hours on your feet, no chairs to sit
    No commissions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management/ Corporate needs to take into account the location of the store & put less pressure on store mangers. No incentive to meet goals with zero commissions and unrealistic sales goals.

    I worked at Swarovski full-time

    Pros

long history, family-owned, devoted customer following, allows for independent atmosphere at times, strong product quality, diverse range of learning opportunities and responsibilities

    Cons

very limited upward mobility, company sets unattainable goals while poorly stocking their stores, very poor work/life balance for full-time staff, declining taste in product design, poor assortment of available products in individual stores with limited access for stores to receive these products for their customers, prefers company's benefit rather than satisfying customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Install experienced business people in upper management and corporate level experience with proven track records of how to run successfully functioning retail companies; do more market research to set more attainable goals based on individual markets, product availabilities, and previous years' business; utilize more marketing opportunities such as advertising and product placements to meet company's retail goals
