Advice to ManagementAdvice

You don't seem to value your employees time. No appreciation or rewards for working around the clock. Also, you should really let them drink the diet cokes. They *do* deserve it.

    I worked at Swirl

    Pros

Fun atmosphere. Lots of new, fun ideas. Must have a very strong work ethic to work there.

    Cons

Very much a sink or swim environment. People are clicky.. Your success depends on the accounts you work on and who likes you.

I have been working at Swirl

    Pros

Growing client roster, on the verge of becoming a "real" shop if they don't crumble under their own growing weight. People are very nice. They mean well. Try hard at a positive work culture.

    Cons

As a full-service agency they don't know what they are doing and are very reactive, I am amazed they have stayed in business this long. There is no process, their structure is a disaster and despite the fact that they are relatively print heavy, they do not utilize print producers or pre-press shops and do not understand why they should. They have gone through many ECDs recently. Pay and benefits are below average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire senior-level staff in all fields (and pay them what they deserve) and allow them to help you fix the things that are wrong with your shop, otherwise you'll lose your big account, lay off half the staff and be knocked back down to where you started.
