I have been working at Swiss Chalet full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good money, consistent quality, easy menu. Great position for a first time server.

Cons

High guest expectations, lack of variety, somewhat monotonous.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More chicken in the flatbreads! Patrons are constantly complaining about the lack of chicken in the flatbreads. It would also be nice to have some opportunity to obtain benefits.

    Pros

Great environment, awesome cooworkers. If you want to get some serving exp this is the place to go. The menu is easy to learn and the tips are okay

    Cons

Toooo many old people. very picky clients but that is just the nature of the clientel. I wouldn't want to work there for any longer than 6 months...get exp and move on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

dont just promote people who have been there the longest, promote those who are capable and qualified to be in their positions

    I worked at Swiss Chalet

    Pros

Very easy job to do. All you do is general cleaning duties and put dishes in dishwasher and put them where they belong when clean.
    Some fairly nice people.
Easy job to get. You don't need any experience at all.

    Cons

    Very "gross" job.
No breaks. Was always given the excuse that the restaurant was too busy. Don't mind working with no breaks once in a while, but this was ridiculous.
Few missing payments and hours. Had to go on my days off to get my pay.
    Management was not the best.
No training...was not shown where MSDS was. Was not shown where dishes go. Was not shown had to clock in to work until the fourth day. Was literally "thrown into the pit" for lack of better words.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees like people. Turn around is high mostly because of this.
