I have been working at Switchfly full-time

    Pros

We have hard working coworkers that want to do a good job. People do their best to support offshore teams but the company is not equipped to handle this pressure. Lunch is provided every week.

    Cons

Everyone has been dealing with short staffing and limited resources. As a result people are worked out and stressed. A lot of smart people have left too which lowers moral. New execs are trying to change things but losing the trust of people. New HR department runs with an extremely condescending and unprofessional style. Employee handbook mysteriously disappears off the company intranet. Things like changing PTO to discretionary time off are sent in an email, no Q&A, no meeting, surprise! The vibe isn't unlimited vacation, rather you are being watched for every hour that you take and how you affect the company bottom line. Other companies with policies similar to this encourage their people to take time off, but not here. A lot of talk about performance compensation which probably means pay cut with the way the company has been lowering costs. Company meetings are less and less informative and the feeling is the company is trying to figure out what next without much progress.

    Advice to Management

Sad to see what has happened to the company. Need to take a serious look at the business and your workforce, treat them like valued people rather than a line item. There are so many great minds and ideas in the company but everyone has been in high stress mode and can't perform. Would love to be at work and feel good rather than worrying if we will have a job when we walk in or come back from vacation. Bring back the open and relaxed culture because forcing people to conform to a fake one does not work.
