“the company is too big and if you have a lousy manager, you are completely stuck. there is no recourse.”
Current Employee – been working at Symantec
Pros – good benefits such as medical and gym.
Cons – there is no career path planning by the hiring manager when they recruit someone. you could be in the same role for 10 years if your manager has no career advancement.
Advice to Senior Management – hire responsibly and not have a short term vision. stop acquiring new companies until you have a better plan for the existing one and when you can ensure that your existing employees can be well taken care of . Symantec has no care for its own human resources and that is a shame as so much knowledge can be lost due to such an attitude.
