    - Pays above average depending on position.
    - A large team, with a large amount of resources to pull from. You should never not have the answer to a customer question within 24 hrs.
    - Employee Stock Option program is nice.
    - Benefits are above average and 401k matching is nice to take advantage of. Also have a lot of programs to take advantage of outside of insurance such as cell phone reimbursement program and monthly discount if not covered in full, gym membership reimbursement program, even a discounted program for you to get legal advice for a living will, etc.!
    - They do pay recoverable draws for newer sales employees getting ramped up.
    - They are an excellent "channel friendly" vendor with all kinds of deal registration and incentive programs for partners to take advantage of.

    - Your management can change at any moment. Your role can change at any moment. Your comp plan can change at any moment. If you respond to any of this with objections, you will be listened to and then told to go back to work. no joke! Unless you are in field sales (and even that is subject to change), these changes can occur as often as a quarterly change, or an annual change.
    - Layoffs have happened quite frequently due to the companies decline.
    - Due to these layoffs, you can have a new manager at any point meaning you have to re-explain everything you are doing so they can catch up.
    - sales cycles can be quite lengthy. A sales cycle for less than 90 days is a little rare unless it is a below average sale or just an addon or upgrade.
    - Symantec has a poor reputation for acquiring products, keeping them updated or refreshed for about 2 yrs or less, and then only updating only the most critical components in order to keep sales moving forward.
    - There is a high churn rate with customers due to lack of knowledge with products that require a certification in order to install or configure. Thus increasing the TCO of the customers purchase in order to include professional services. Kind of like buying an a/c unit, and then paying the cost of the a/c unit again just to get it delivered and installed in your home. Customers hate that.
    - They charge money for training customers how to use the software.
    - Terrible customer service as well as support which is all outsourced to India for the core products.
    - Senior management makes layoffs based on how much it is going to cost them to lose you. not on your performance, your tenure, or your role within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on improving the customer experience and your employee retention and you might see a little more success in the years to come.

Some great people but the company was a bit disorganized.

Great people and good products. The Company remains competitive with numerous offerings.

Too many people looking to "steer the ship" which created a lot of inefficiencies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick a direction and continue with it. If you need to adjust, as others involved and not simply senior execs.
