    Pros

Symantec is a global organization and has offices worldwide. For the most part, employees are great to work with and if you're looking for career pathing and promotion opportunities this is the company. I started as a customer service representative and after 10 years was a Director. The pay is pretty good as long as you work at Corporate Headquarters. The benefits are also the best in the industry. Onsite cafeteria, work out areas, game/pool room, backetball court etc.. lots of paid time off including holidays, great insurance, great 401k with matching up to $500, and good disability benefits.

    Cons

Sr. Management harbors a backstabbing/toe stepping, go behind your back mentality. You constantly have to watch your back b/c there are 20 other people waiting to take your job. The job hours and traveling are unbelievable. Example traveling is a must and take a lot of time away from your job that you have to make up for so working a 65-70 hour workweek is not uncommon. There is NO work/life balance. I missed most of the important years of my children growing up for this job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Enrique, you need to take a look at your company and realize that your employees believe in order to succeed, they need to be aggressive, dishonest, backstabbing and will do anything to claw their way to the stop. You think healthy competition, employees think they have to play the 'game' in order to keep their jobs.

    Cons

-Project Management team did not have good handle on planning, time management and controlling projects

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use input from the employee feedback surveys to implement real change or stop requiring employees to complete them.
