Pros

They have one of the best 401K packages, I believe they matched contributions up to 10%. The staff feels more like family especially when you work on teams while working on deadline-driven assignments. They throw great office parties for Cinco De Mayo, Christmas and Employee Appreciation Day mid year. They have a great career development program where they have a host of courses that can be taken. Most of the employees that work there are very hard working and dedicated

Cons

Some support departments are allowed to make very costly mistakes without being 'called on the carpet' for them. Some mistakes were so severe and/or so far gone that I believe we lost some clients because of them. There appears to be an 'us against them' attitude which pits Client Service employees against Operations employees. Because of the adversarial relationship between the two groups of employees, information is not always shared and things sometimes simply slip though the cracks. There are some employees who have seniority and are extremely difficult to work with - difficult in the sense that they are condescending and berate employees out in the open as opposed to talking to the employee in a diplomatic way behind closed doors. These employees have been known to yell at other employees and are never punished for their actions. When some employees have complained about specific employees to HR, nothing was done to the offenders. Some employees are getting promotions not based on their knowledge of market research but based on acting like robots. As long as an employee does not have opinions about anything or does not think on their own - strictly using the judgment of their superior as opposed to thinking on their own which I believe was a job requirement for some positions - then they will be promoted. Basically if you play dumb, you will get promoted in some departments.

Advice to Senior Management

I think that you need to foster more of a team atmosphere across all departments so that everyone feels that whatever their job title is, they are an important part of the team. There also needs to be more support for employees that are feeling like they are being harrassed by tyrannical managers. Without these 2 main things, I believe that you will lose not only valuable employees but also valuable clients.
