Was excellent until one day. Then it all changed for the worst.

Former Employee - Associate Manager in Shrewsbury, MA

I worked at T-Mobile

Pros

-good if you get a good market and specifically Market Manager and Division director
-Pay can be good if your hitting your goals which can be possible depending on how they feel like making them for the month.
-Fun
-Pretty good employee phone plan.

Cons

-Get the wrong market, market manager, and divisional director and kiss all the money, fun, reason you want to go to work everyday good bye.
-People given positions above you have never been in your shoes, never mind actually working in a t-mobile store. and they expect you to listen to them when they say something asinine for you to do.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

look at who your hire to oversee the store managers and market managers. There is usually more talent and retail knowledge coming from the newer part timers than coming from the leaders.

I have been working at T-Mobile

    Pros

Excellent benefits, work with really great people, decent paying job for fairly easy work, fun work environment

    Cons

Promotions are rarely based on performance and generally fall toward favoritism, upper executives in charge of retail operations have no clue how to handle retail operations, very weak infrastructure

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop making work unnecessarily difficult. Examples include token code system which adds an extra 1-5 minutes per each time we need to call customer service to fix a problem, trying to run all retail operations on Windows XP with a 4 year old version of Internet Explorer, outsourcing a lot of certain departments which have no idea what they are doing when we need to call to get things done (Prepaid dept, Flexpay dept, Act dept)
