I worked at T-Mobile full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good hours and equivalent pay for the work. Put in a position to succeed in this role with manager support. Great coworkers and supervisors.

Cons

Directives were often changed at the last minute. There are not very good opportunities for career advancement here because of poor company performance.

Great focus on employee development, possibly at expense of market leadership.

    I worked at T-Mobile

    Pros

Great at hiring from within, had excellent career-path tracking set up with HR, opportunities to build skills through internal and external training, and really kept to their core company values.

    Cons

Tough working for the #4 out of 4 company and one that has trouble defining its primary goals for customer retention and value growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on what your business (cellular and data service), leave the rest to the experts (phone functionality).

    I worked at T-Mobile full-time

    Pros

Commission plus $10/hr base salary, so it was more lucrative than a lot of other line-level jobs.

    Cons

T-Mobile's network is patchy in the greater denver area, so when you sell their service, customers often come back with issues. Also, T-Mobile's systems for setting up and managing accounts are not reliable, so you may fix a customer's account, and the system will say everything's fine - but the customer will come in later with the same issue they had before. When you go to check, the system will tell you nothing's changed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management's in between a rock and a hard place. They can't really defend T-Mobile to a customer, but they're expected to hold stores to certain sales standards. They often can be found hiding from customers in the back of the store.
