Pros

Managers care about their folks. Great group to work with a lot of retired military. They do value highly skilled people.

Cons

KKR bought TASC,now they are changing healthcare to HSA that retired military can not use or be fined by the IRS. Cutting 401K match and time off. The cost cutting to compete and pay for the loans they used buy the company from NG. They have lost several contracts as of late.

Advice to Management

There are better ways to cut cost, reduce payments to hedge fund. Your people are the asset it is better to ask them to take a pay cut, then gut the healthcare

    Pros

Great industry reputation from the 1960s. Worker benefits were best in the industry. Generous 401k matching, pension plans for legacy Northrop Grumman employees, great tuition reimbursement for students, descent health coverage for families and singles, lots of vacation, and a good severance package.

    Cons

Leadership has a strategy for growing the business but management is getting in their way. The method of competing for the "big" contracts at the expense of the "smaller" contracts is not compatible with the current business climate. This is self evident by the loss of many employee benefits that were mentioned in the "Pros" section and the massive layoffs/furloughs in certain mismanaged divisions. TASC is trying to shift the costs incurred by the mistakes of management to its human capital. In the short term this may preserve company profitability, but it will not reverse the decline in revenue and deep blows made to employee moral.

    Advice to Management

Adapt to the realities of a fiscally constrained environment or risk losing the company. Human capital is where you derive your value. You are quickly approaching the point in which the most talented employees are going to leave for the competition.

  2. Once great government contractor, has now lost it's way

    Pros

TASC was once the best of the best. The attitude of excellence permeated all aspects of the business. The great thing about old TASC was the arguments. Every opinion mattered, and if you didn't agree with your manager, it was held against you if you said so. Many changes in the corporate structure wore away at this during the Northrop Grumman years, but an attitude always persisted that TASC was a special place.

    Cons

The new management post sale from NG did everything in their power to destroy everything that made old TASC special. Every SR VP they brought in was from outside and several in particular were so utterly incompetent that the mind reels. Business wins are in the toilet due to the destruction of the BD org, and I can't speak for the business units, but moral in the support orgs is abysmal.

    Advice to Management

FIre yourself. Sorry to say, but I don't have much advice. This company will be broken up and sold to competitors within a couple years.
