I worked at TASC as a contractor

Pros

If you're a self-driven individual, who doesn't need someone breathing down your neck, and can complete assignments without guidance, you will do well. The position is flexible enough to allow you to finish your job in the best way possible, with efficiency and pride. There are limitations and guidance documents that will prevent you from going too far outside of your job, or inadvertently violating a regulation or labor law, for both your protection and theirs.

Cons

If you are a lazy slacker that can show up to work, each donuts or breakfast tacos all day while surfing the internet or watching TV, and not feel guilty that you're getting paid to do absolutely nothing productive, then this place is perfect for you. No one check up on you, and if you can make up some excuse as to why you busted a timeline, no one cares. Heck.... take a 4 hour lunch and your boss probably won't notice! Just as long as they see you before 9am, and you're still there around 3pm, you can effectively skate through and know that it doesn't matter.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make people more accountable. Have the balls to fire people that aren't pulling their portion of the workload.

I worked at TASC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

TASC is a large company dealing with government contracts.
Excellent values and treats employees as family
Wages are applicable and standard to employee type of work and experience

    Cons

Government contracts are only for a certain timeline

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TASC should be able to understand a little more about the type of work employees do and what is required of them when bidding on contracts that are new to their companies expertise. This could help win the contract and keep more coming in the future

    I worked at TASC full-time

    Pros

Having recently chopped several layers of management, I think John Hynes is on his way to up-righting the ship. Benefits that were cut are no different than other companies. Salaries and increases no different than other companies.

    Cons

With all the cutting, still have employees who continue to have multiple breaks throughout the day. Add up all that time and it equals well over 5 or 6 FTEs.

In areas where cubicles are used instead of walls, the socializing prevents people who want to work, from working. Management is often right in the middle of the talking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can still cut more dead weight in some areas.
