Pros

Professional approach in the tire industry, with great training and support. Comprehensive training program and seasoned management make this a great organization.

Cons

Vehicle program (runzhiemers) is not a good reimbursement program. Base reimbursement and variable mileage don't adequately cover the cost of using your vehicle for company use.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Solid program in place for training new hires and recently promoted employees. Weak vehicle reimbursment program, and weak is being nice!

    Pros

    Emphasis on building a professional culture and being the leader in the commercial tire industry in every area: Service, Product, Working Environment, etc.; Great emphasis on positive corporate citizenship and shared values.

    Cons

    Not a good place to work if one is lazy or unfocused. This is an action-packed, demanding business anywhere, and with the company's focus on extensive training, professionalism, safety, compliance, and building culture, there is no opportunity for boredom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Have as many field people with front line experience as possible fill appropriate positions at headquarters.

    I have been working at TCi Tire Centers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    The people I work with are fantastic. Some of the best in the industry. The company is owned by Michelin Group, which provides a sense of security no matter how poor the performance. Training is provided, not always efficient, but extensive so much to make up for the lack of efficiency.

    Cons

    Too many people with little or no field experience in upper management. Many of those in upper management come from Michelin (a manufacturing company) to run TCI a service company. Benchmarks are unattainable, and unrealistic. They want to increase service offerings before being fully capable of handling the current offerings. The sales commission compensation program is sub-par.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Invest more into the service that you say your centered on. Do not set unrealistic expectations year after year. This only causes stress at the center levels, and a huge turnover in middle management.
