I have been working at TD Bank full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

- Excellent career growth if you live in a large metropolitan area
- Great benefits and pension plan
- Above average pay structure compared to similar jobs in the industry
- TD is consistently setting the benchmark for how a bank should be run

Cons

- Senior management can be disconnected at times and often new managers have very little experience for our business model
- Preferential treatment toward certain employees and promotions

Advice to ManagementAdvice

- Invest more in IT
- Hire from within when you can and ensure you have chosen someone who is right for the job and has the confidence of their direct reports

    I worked at TD Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Extremely customer service oriented. Great products offered.

    Cons

    Difficult to achieve work life balance. TD stores are open 7 days a week and only close Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take better care of your employees. Recognize their value and appreciate them for what they do.

    I worked at TD Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -somewhat competitive pay relative to other banks
    -more creative and interesting working environment
    -frequent special events to participate in
    -frequent employee surveys, though this doesn't guarantee your grievances will be corrected.

    Cons

    -illogical customer service expectations, mixed with sales expectations, mixed with understaffed high volume branches result in much unneeded stress on employees
    -upper management isn't concerned with much other than sales and often leaves branches understaffed to save money

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Practice the company's values and care about employees rather than pretending. Your front end employees are the lowest paid, least respected yet have the most customer face time and are expected to do the most work while meeting goals and providing exceptional customer service.
