TOO LAX for its own good...

I have been working at TD Securities

    Pros

Management is very good about letting employees work from home or taking days off last minute

Very cordial & polite atmosphere exuded by overall staff

Senior management appears to have an open door policy ... receptive to suggestions

    Cons

Delegation of supervisory oversight should be a cause of great concern for senior management in NYC.

Very few in management know the systems inside and out nor does mgmt understand the procedures or work entailed and assumed by their staff because there is no checks or balances in seeing if the staff is doing what they should be doing correctly (assuming they are even doing it at all)...

Slackers get by very easily at TD because it is so difficult to remove them after the initial 90 days...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more hands on to the day to day operations so you can avoid a UBS nightmare...

Instead of just overpaying for delegators who are just YES men and internet surfers - Hire managers that want to learn the operations from A-Z so the managers can be leaders that understand when there is a crisis or streamline the process to help alleviate the overload of the daily grind (NOT ADD TO IT).
