Pros

Large multinational company with significant financial resources to move forward. The working levels of the company are filled with talented individuals that deserve better leadership.

Cons

Top heavy management in favor of hiring "new blood" from the outside, implying that their own development of people is insufficient. The policies of the company drive individual performance down to the lowest common denominator. Often they are written around the 1% or less of employees that might be an issue. This ensures that even high performers are treated with a lack of trust and diminished respect.

Advice to Senior Management

Think back on the elements that made you great, and ask yourself which of those are important to retain but are slipping away. Just how many people are need at a corporate management level to encourage the line divisions to be effective.
