I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

No travel, saving money on gas and new clothes. Truly enjoying all the co-workers I speak with every day. TEK has made it easy to get access to job information, etc.

Cons

Can't think of any at this time.

    Pros

Very friendly staff. Engaged weekly/bi-weekly to see how you are doing.

    Cons

As with any Contract company, trying to get paid what your worth is always a game of chess.

Great Company, Hard Work (But what success comes easy?)

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time

    Pros

Great People - company cares about your personal well being - a lot of out of office events.
Work/Life balance (after you have estabilished yourself - expect to work hard the first few years)
Great company to start a career and learn business skills
    Reputable organization, privately held
    Team environment, yet still competitive.
Potential to make great $ while helping IT Profesionals with their careers.

    Cons

The industry/job itself can be tough. There is a bad stereotype out there for recruiters and you are always the "middle man." It can be a roller coaster ride as people tend to put you in bad business situations on a regular basis. Must be resilient, good problem solver and not take things personally.

TEKsystems does have some micromanagement that can be frustrating but the reality is that all sales companies are number based and the "micromanagement" does help make sure you are NOT in a position where a few months in, you are out of work because you didn't hit your numbers. If you are doing well and bringing in sales for the company, there is less micromanagement, so just work hard and smart!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to empower your Account Managers who will then empower the engine of the company, the recruiters.

A lot of red tape for back office processes - spend a lot of time dealing with back office and admin related items instead of focusing on recruiting/sales.
