It is a privately held company and a fun place to work and make money if you don't mind long hours.

Pros

The potential for making money is available. The average starting base is $30k but you can negotiate a higher salary with previous experience. From personal experience and other co-workers $35k-$45k is salary you could negotiate but only for 1 year then you go to a $30k base. And you don't get your commission until you exceed your negotiated base pay of X. Make sure they explain how the "Guaranteed Commission" works and factors into your commission.

Cons

Long hours you first year to build your network and then long hours after that year to maintain your commission. The health benefits are horrible.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good leadership, everyone in a leadership position has been a recruiter and understands the frustrations. Everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up.

    Pros

Paid every week. Bonuses and profit sharing checks. The on boarding process was great for the first two weeks, which sucks you into their "Core Values".

    Cons

After you have bought into the con of their "Core Values", you think that you have actually stumbled onto a great company, but your just not paid enough. However, sometimes if the atmosphere is good and there are other benefits, you over look the low pay. Unfortunately, you become a robot. It's somewhat like being in basic training for the military. You are now no longer to think for yourself. If you disagree with upper management, be prepared to find your job posted online. I know of people who have gone to HR because of the unfair treatment and, HR ignored their complaints and concerns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Because the corporate office is a small office, there needs to be a third party involved with complaints and concerns, because if an employee has disagreed with management, they are reprimanded or encouraged to quit. There needs to be a neutral party making HR decisions because they are very biased, and look out for their "friends" instead of handling the issues at hand or trying to prevent a lawsuit.

Decent place to work, if they paid employees a little better they could corner the market!

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

    - Weekly Pay
    - They been the game longer than most companies so they have a lot of companies they can get a prospective employee exposed to.
    - Was helpful with giving some direction on what to expect during an interview, helpful with preparing resume.

    Cons

    - Benefits are costly.
    - Pay is a little less than what others companies pay for same position.
    - No raises or incentive to try to obtain one.
    - Since it's contract work you can be let go without notice.
    - No vacation, sick or Holiday pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Possibly give out Project Completion Bonuses if you are on a short term contract or complete a large one. Make it worthwhile to work for the company. No need to be so Icy, even though its a contract it's someones job, take pride on your workers, especially the ones who take pride in their assignments.
