I worked at TESSCO

Pros

Excellent benefits, fair compensation, terrific training

Cons

Fierce pressure to perform. Not a nurturing enviroment. Pretty much do or die....proven by the 20% turnover y/y. Limited collaboration between teams.

    I worked at TESSCO

    Pros

when things ran smoothly, it was a great place to work. as soon as something went wrong, there was too much fingerpointing instead of real problem solving.

    Cons

very unfair leave accrual system; double standards seem to exist regarding treatment of hourly versus salaried employees; too much nepotism...it's not what you do but who knows you that counts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

decide what direction you want to go in and make it happen. you cannot be all thngs to all customers all of the time...it just doesn't work.

    I worked at TESSCO

    Pros

The people are some of the best you will meet!!
Training is top shelf. Atmosphere fosters learning and technical knowledge development.

    Cons

Successful employees grossly under compensated. Management concerned with staying on the top of the hill. Micromanagement detracts from focusing on the bigger picture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to create more clearly defined career paths for those employees who wish to advance. Pay attention to employees who are contributing to the bottom line and work to compensate them more accurately or TESSCO will continue to bleed talent.
