Former Employee - Program Leader in Santa Ana, CA
Former Employee - Program Leader in Santa Ana, CA

I worked at THINK Together part-time (less than a year)

Pros

- Helping the kids who need it most
- Other Program Leaders or Site Coordinators who were willing to work with you and help
- Willing to work with you if you have trouble with the kids

Cons

- Low pay for enormous amount of work
- Had to pay for kid's rewards or extra activities out of pocket
- Mandatory trainings that would only be beneficial half the time
- Lack of communication between higher management and those on front lines
- Rule changes were constant and not relayed to PLs (connected to Con above)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be better communication between HR, senior management, and those actually working in the schools (Site Coordinators and Program Leaders). I would always have to call two or three people if I had to miss a day of work and rules would seem to change from year to year and month to month.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Santa Ana, CA

I worked at THINK Together full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - It is great to have a job where you can truely make your daily work mission-driven
    - The lower level staff- the HUB staff and SCs are a great group of people to work with and learn from

    Cons

    - Incredibly unappreciate company to work for.
-THINK has lost sight of the mission. It spends more time on expansion, and for profit ventures, and is doing little to strengthen the existing programs, and reward the hard working (and underpaid) staff
    - Because it is non profit, wages are low. That is expected. The addition of new upper level staff making six figures is mind blowing considering everyone else is getting pennies.
    - Many management level employees are not qualified or productive in their positions; there is often hires based on connections and who they know that can clearly not manage or run a team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not just say you believe in the mission. Act on it. Run THINK as though it is truely for the kids, and reward those that are already doing that on a daily basis.

Former Employee - Supplemental Education Services Instructor in Santa Ana, CA

I worked at THINK Together part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They offer great supplemental education services program to under-privileged and poverty stricken children who are struggling in English Language Arts or Mathematics.

    Cons

I found their provided curriculum that we had to use with our students was not user friendly. It was too excessive. Their curriculum needs to be streamlined and based on current students interests, like an interactive educational activities software, because technology is one of the most valuable instructional tools in education today.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to hire more passionate, innovative, and educationally evolved employees.
