I have been working at TIAA-CREF full-time (more than an year)

Pros

The base salary, bonus structure, retirement contributions/match and the paid time off are top of the line in the financial services industry

Cons

It's a growing company and the support staff for the wealth advisors could be more robust. The technology also has some catch up to do

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't look at the support staff as a drain on the bottom line but as crucial to the success of the front line WMA's.

I have been working at TIAA-CREF full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

TIAA-CREF and the people who work there genuinely care about their clients and their investment outcomes. The benefits are great, including health insurance, fitness reimbursements, and compensation. Most managers seem to take seriously their employees' work-life balance. The corporate culture places a strong emphasis on diversity.

    Cons

It is a large company, which sometimes translates into bureaucracy and monolithic thinking that is slow to change. The long name can be unwieldy at times. The company does not have the brand recognition it deserves, though it is trying to change that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help investors understand why your products are better, rather than just telling them that they are. Enhance training opportunities for new employees.
