Pros

Work life balance is good and the benefits are competitive

Cons

New sales culture of IAS is much like what the big banks decided to do. This is going to be end of what built TIAA CREF's great reputation.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to relationship management, retention and growth. Not just fast paced and extreme expansion

    I have been working at TIAA-CREF full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great people all across the organization. Good base salary. Outstanding frontline managers.

    Cons

    Silos still exist and disconnect between executive management team and senior leadership. Things just never run smoothly despite upgrades in technology and training. Front line reps and bottom level managers overwhelmed with an ever-changing scorecard and a very subjective yearly bonus system.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Roger and the Executive Management team are highly visible, but their ability to get things done comes apart at the Senior management level. There is a disconnect and panic whenever EMT is coming to visit; wear special clothes, act certain way, everyone is way too uptight. Is it so hard for a financial services company to have a Google-esque culture? We swing the hammer too far in both directions: Over-hire and then over-fire/lay-off.
