Pros

Plenty of opportunity and good named customer base. There's so much constant change that it almost always means a good opportunity pops up if you work hard and keep you head down. The customers are great and they put on a really good annual user event. They make pretty good, highly complex products that many Global 2000 companies use. Good cafe and pretty good benefits.

Cons

Marketing attrition is big. Around 90+% over 3 years there. They lost so many of their good marketing leaders and it's rudderless. Executives aren't well respected and for the most part nicknamed "FOVs", which means "Friends of Vivek" (the CEO). There is very little leadership to look up to and most often people feel like there is no guiding strategy, just case after case of changing direction and having to sprint.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company, it's obvious you don't know how to manage for growth and Vivek will never make the hard call to oust his friends.

    Pros

    Great company that is way past its prime. Needs to do things that made it great.

    Cons

    Senior management has nice cushy jobs and dont want to change anything. Why change anything, when your compensation is secure. The distance between the CEO and the customers who pay the bills is increasing day by day. Customer's success is no longer priority #1. Selling has become #1 priority. Customer success should #1. For people who strive for customer success, it is very frustrating. TIBCO has changed.

    Vivek is a very smart man. He should bite the bullet and recycle senior management. They are keeping him away from customer success.

    Pros

    Palo Alto campus is a great working environment; limited "micro-management" from above; excellent software employed in some pretty unique solutions for impressive customers; generally speaking, a nice group of people and some very smart individuals

    Cons

    Has the bureaucracy expected of a MUCH bigger company; Lacks the nimbleness expected of a smaller company; FOV; Know all the buzzwords re "employee morale & satisfaction" but it's rarely more than lipservice.

    Get some expertise in the senior ranks
