Pros

There are GREAT products at TIBCO--you can't beat them so you can be proud that you are at a company that doesn't have to lie to sell.

Cons

There is no concept of work/life balance at TIBCO. If you want to work for a company where you can comfortably stop looking at your blackberry after 7 pm, TIBCO is not the place to do it. There is very little (if any) visibility into how you earn a good bonus, so as the year end gets closer it pays to be as visible as possible to the executive staff. There is not a very long memory in terms of what an employee did early in the year as it pertains to bonuses.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure that those you put in management positions have the knowledge to run the groups that you have them in charge of. If they have never worked in that group (at TIBCO or elsewhere) it might be a good indicator that they are not the choice for that role. Also, stop being afraid of the truth. You have great products, you don't need to lie about results.

    Pros

    Great company that is way past its prime. Needs to do things that made it great.

    Cons

    Senior management has nice cushy jobs and dont want to change anything. Why change anything, when your compensation is secure. The distance between the CEO and the customers who pay the bills is increasing day by day. Customer's success is no longer priority #1. Selling has become #1 priority. Customer success should #1. For people who strive for customer success, it is very frustrating. TIBCO has changed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Vivek is a very smart man. He should bite the bullet and recycle senior management. They are keeping him away from customer success.

    Pros

    Palo Alto campus is a great working environment; limited "micro-management" from above; excellent software employed in some pretty unique solutions for impressive customers; generally speaking, a nice group of people and some very smart individuals

    Cons

    Has the bureaucracy expected of a MUCH bigger company; Lacks the nimbleness expected of a smaller company; FOV; Know all the buzzwords re "employee morale & satisfaction" but it's rarely more than lipservice.

    Get some expertise in the senior ranks
