I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (less than a year)

Pros

cheap, fashionable clothes
other associates are great
free food once a month

Cons

NEVER get a raise. only once a year and your lucky to get 10 cents

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be professional. Don't encourage gossip. and PLEASE dress appropriately. all the female managers should dress like they are going to the country club every single day, not look like they just woke up. its very unprofessional

I have been working at TJ Maxx full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You are employed and given many hopes and promises of advancement and sold the company culture.

    Cons

You are expected to work 60 plus hours weekly and more during inventories and unrealistic expectations of how to get the work done with budgets that are deplorable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seek an alternative way to merchandise your stores that makes maintaining them realistic.

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good hours, reasonable pay, shift differential on second shift. Benefits look good if you become a perm. Relatively clean warehouse. Easy but repetitive work.

    Cons

I was trained by a person who started one week before me. Union pecking order and union does not listen to any temps. Supervisors constantly hit on us. Made it pretty evident that if you went out with them, you would get better work orders. Several of the associates have relationships with supervisors and have better jobs. No policy against it. Union did not do anything about it. Have to work as a temp to qualify to get rehired in the spring. Not sure how they rated us. Said don't call us, we'll call you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clarify what it takes to become a full time worker.
