I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

the training was fun, and they all learn how to do all jobs so u really feel like a team. I began in Oct, so the pre-xmas thing made for between 20-30 hrs. Weekly paychecks are great!

    Cons

after xmas the hrs really dropped! less than 20/wk, and they keep saying they don't have money in their budget to schedule more people to work, in the past 2 mo. i'm only scheduled for on day per wk. it's really embarrassing to be cashier with the big line of people grumbling over the "short wall" , asking "why don't they have more cashiers working" when there are only 2 or 3 out of 9 registers open.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

1-stop having your cashier supv. running her own register cuz that means when one of us needs her, she's not available 2-plz make a separate line for returns, it just makes everyone else have to wait too long
