Pros

Good work/life balance. Work with a lot of other college grads. Tremendous job security. Decent salary for what the job requires of you.

Cons

The atmosphere is very evident that all the employees are just "putting in their time" in order to someday become a buyer. Management wants you to be creative and think outside the box, but ultimately all final decisions are made extremely conservatively and by the book, very much a "if its not broke dont fix it" type of work place. If you are looking to be creative or if you arent the type of person to just side with the crowd then this is probably not the employer for you.

    I worked at TJX Companies

    Pros

    9-5 and nothing more
get to leave work at work when you leave
good pay for entry level position
    nice corporate offices and amenities

    Cons

can be transferred at any moment, derailing your promotions
corporate training structure prevents you from moving up on merit
not a person, just a number
    not enough feedback from managers
over-communication about the same issues from management when something goes wrong, but no comunication when something is done right

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop hiring college graduates with degrees in psychology, socialogy, etc. that have no interest in becoming a buyer other than for free travel and free dinners. Focus on fashion forward employees in planning/buying if that is the direction you want your company to go in. If you want to stay behind the trends, stay with hiring psychology majors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people they are doing this job every day and know what it takes to get the job done
