    Pros

Great opportunity for advancement in this company.

    Cons

Sometimes politics can prohibit advancement. I personally haven't been a victim of this, but see others that have not been promoted because they weren't part of the "boys club", even though they were the most qualified candidate.

    Pros

If you don't have any big ambitions, and really just want to coast on the status quo, this is the place for you. The company is stable and rewards conformists who keep quiet. A good manager makes all the difference in one's level of satisfaction.

    Cons

The pervasive attitude is that the business model is "so unique" that one cannot possibly comprehend it without starting at the bottom. HR actively avoids recruiting anyone with graduate degrees. Way too much work is expected for far too little reward. Off-price retailer = off-price salaries.A good manager makes all the difference in one's level of satisfaction; unfortunately, good managers are very difficult to find in this company.

    Advice to Management

Throw out the farce called Open Door policy; it's a joke and you know it. Enforce the code of conduct at all levels.
